I keep seeing all over Instagram people have these faux fur blankets, or mats or whatever in their pictures, but I can never find one that’s within my price range (I can be pretty stingy sometimes). So when I found Lion Brand Go For Faux at Walmart yesterday for only $2 a skein, I got 2 of them to make a little mat to use for my Instagram pictures!

This is a super easy pattern, literally just chaining a bunch and then single crochet, but sometimes it’s nice to have a pattern to know exactly how it should go. The only difficult thing about this pattern is trying to find the holes to put your hook. You’re going to have to feel for the holes and just guess. I’m sure I missed some holes, or put 2 stitches in others, but as long as you take your time and count your stitches it won’t end up too funky or lop sided. In the end it should be around 20 inches by 13 inches.
What you will need:
2 Skeins Go For Faux by Lion Brand (or similar faux fur yarn)
N (10.00mm) Crochet Hook
Scissors
Embroidery Needle
Abbreviations:
CH – Chain
SC – Single Crochet
Pattern:
ch 51
Row 1: sc in second ch from hook, and sc across (50)
Row 2-30: ch 1, sc across (50)
Tie off the ends and weave them in using the embroidery needle
Notes:
You can very easily make this a lot bigger but adding more in the chain, or adding more rows, or both! This was just what you could make with 2 skeins, which I think made a very nice sized mat for Instagram pictures.
